Sensei Karen Richards Wins 2006 Meritorious Service Award
Congratulations to Sensei Karen for winning
the 2006 Meritorious Service Award for the Mid-America region. You
can read about it in the September
2006 newsletter. The award was presented during the national
tournament in Anchorage and, unfortunately, Karen couldn't be there.
Marty Schrager, of Brown County, made sure her plaque didn't miss
out on the trip. Here's a couple of pictures from her plague's tour

Learn the Dojo Kun in Japanese
The Dojo Kun is recited at the conclusion
of every karate training, allowing the students to reflect upon
the guiding principles of karate-do. The Athens club usually recites
it in English, but it's recited in Japanese at regional and national

A Blast from the Past
Sensei Golden instructed in Athens from 1968
to around 1980, and the Ohio University Collegiate Team was among
the top three collegiate teams in the nation for many years when
the ISKF was first organized. Click
